What is the Refer-A-Friend Program?

The Refer-A-Friend program is a commission-based program where Different Roads to Learning customers can invite friends and family to shop at With each purchase your friends make through your Refer-A-Friend link, you earn a 10% commission on the sale, excluding shipping and tax. You can then redeem your commission for an online gift certificate good towards future online purchases at Different Roads to Learning.

How do I enroll in the Refer-A-Friend program?

Click here for the application form and fill it out. Once your account is active, a welcome email will be sent to your account.

How does the Refer-A-Friend program work?

Once your account is confirmed, you will receive an email with a unique code that will identify the purchases made by your friends and credit them to your account. Simply forward the email that introduces the Different Roads to Learning Refer-A-Friend program to your friends and colleagues. When your friends link to our site and complete a purchase, your account will receive the sales commission. Note that in order to receive your sales commission, your friends must follow the specific link you provide them with in your email. In addition to your welcome email, you will also receive an email that you can forward directly to friends.

What do my friends need to do?

When your friends receive your email, they will need to link to our site directly from the link in the body of the email. Once they are on our site, all sales they place will earn you 10% commission.

What if my friends and family are not receiving my email?

Spam filters can interfere with the delivery of your email. You can try copying and pasting your email into a new email as opposed to forwarding it. This will refresh the hidden code and aid in delivery.

How does the code know to give me commission?

The code is specific to your account. It places a cookie on the machine of your recipient and will identify all sales from that machine as a referral from you. If your friends delete the cookies they will need to link to our site from the email again in order to reactivate the cookies.

Can I track my sales?

Absolutely! Simply log into your account to not only see what sales you have generated, but what commissions and gift certificates you have redeemed.

How do I claim my commissions?

Commissions are redeemed by online gift certificates. Once you log into your Refer-A-Friend account, you can request to generate a gift certificate. An online gift certificate is then issued and can be redeemed immediately. Gift certificates are redeemable online only.

How do I use my gift certificate?

Add items to your Shopping Cart as you would normally do and continue to check out. Click "Gift Certificate" as a form of payment and enter the gift certificate code into the code box. Click submit. If your order is more than the commission gift certificate value, you will see this check out page again with a message to enter in another form of payment for the order balance. If the order did not exceed the commission gift certificate, the balance will remain on your gift certificate for future orders.

Does my code or gift certificate expire?

No. You can continue to accumulate commissions and create gift certificates. The gift certificates can be used anytime without expiration.

Does the Refer-A-Friend program apply to orders placed via Purchase Order?

Unfortunately not. This program depends on unique online codes and therefore is only trackable and applicable to orders placed on our website using a credit card or PayPal account.
